The easiest, fastest, and most cost-effective way to efficiently meet energy demand is through conservation. Over the past three decades, Prism have enjoyed valued partnerships with BC Hydro and FortisBC as these utilities work towards their conservation and efficiency targets. In helping our partners reach their targets, Prism continues to play a key role in developing and participating in energy savings programs starting.
At the program design stage, Prism carried out pilots for BC Hydro’s Industrial Energy Monitoring & Targeting program. For FortisBC, Prism carried out technical feasibility pilot studies on new technologies and for both utilities, Prism designed behavioural change programs for the commercial sector.
To support programs during implementation, Prism’s services range from a single-day, custom training and facilitation sessions to running year-long programs such as the Energy Wise Network which includes networking summits, coaching and campaign support.
Prism also provides program evaluation services. As an example, the team evaluated the total energy savings from over 130 sites as part of the FortisBC Efficient Boiler Program. Prism has also evaluated non-energy benefits for BC Hydro’s residential, commercial and industrial programs.
