After completing the initial site assessment where the building electrical service equipment along with the distribution for the elevators were reviewed, we recommended installing temporary power quality meters at various locations to determine the power quality characteristics of the building electrical system.
Metering equipment was installed to monitor the selected electrical loads on a continuous basis for three weeks. After retrieving the data, we analyzed the voltage and current trends, harmonic levels, as well as the phase balance and frequencies of the feeds and determined the probable cause of the elevator issues. Our methodology, findings, and recommendations for corrective actions were outlined in the final report.
