In order to ensure reliability of facility services, Prism conducted a climate risk assessment that assessed the potential impacts of future climate conditions on the expected lifecycle of electrical and mechanical building systems and civil infrastructure. The overall objective was to determine the nature and relative levels of climate risk across the site and to inform future PSPC investment and asset management decisions that will support prioritization of remedial action.
Recommended solutions informed by the data review, engagement with operations staff, and risk assessment process included high, medium and low priorities to mitigate future impacts and address the anticipated vulnerabilities for the site. The report also included recommendations for conceptual infrastructure upgrades, management actions to address infrastructure capacity issues, and certain systems that could require additional evaluation at a later date.
