Mining for Energy Savings: Engaging Staff in Energy Management in the British Columbia Mining Sector

Using New Gold New Afton Mine and Teck Highland Valley Copper as case studies, this paper will share each mine’s journey, including results and lessons learned, to empower and engage staff to conserve energy and promote a more sustainable future.

This paper shares CN Rail’s journey to develop a web-based energy dashboard that empowers its operators to monitor its systems, understand trends and, ultimately, conserve energy.

This paper defines deep carbon retrofits for commercial buildings, describes practical challenges and strategies for implementing deep carbon retrofits, and shares successful case studies with reductions in the 50-90% range.

In collaboration with the Association of Energy Engineers, Prism shared notes on the differences between energy audits and deep carbon reduction studies, practical challenges of deep carbon retrofits and a case study for the City of Vancouver Kitsilano Community Centre.
